Your Questions Answered

Your initial consultation lasts 90 minutes and includes a comprehensive TCM assessment — we'll discuss your health history, lifestyle, and goals in detail. We'll also examine your tongue and take your pulse (the two main TCM diagnostic tools). Your first treatment is included in the consultation fee of €95, and you'll leave with a personalised treatment plan.
Acupuncture needles are extremely fine — much thinner than hypodermic needles — and most patients feel little to no pain upon insertion. You may experience a sensation known as De Qi (arriving of Qi) — a mild ache, warmth, tingling, or heaviness around the needle — which is actually a sign that the point has been activated effectively. Most patients find acupuncture deeply relaxing and many fall asleep during treatment.
This varies greatly depending on your condition, its duration, and your constitution. As a general guideline, acute conditions often respond within 3–6 sessions, while chronic or long-standing conditions typically require 8–12 sessions to achieve lasting results. Your practitioner will give you a realistic estimate at your initial consultation, and we always review progress at each appointment.
Some German private health insurers (PKV) and supplementary insurance plans (Zusatzversicherung) cover acupuncture and/or herbal medicine. Statutory health insurance (GKV) in Germany covers acupuncture for chronic low back pain and knee osteoarthritis through approved practitioners. We recommend contacting your insurer directly to confirm your coverage. We are happy to provide receipts and clinical reports to support any insurance claim.
Please eat a light meal 1–2 hours before your appointment (avoid arriving completely full or on an empty stomach). Wear or bring loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your arms, legs, and abdomen. Bring a list of any medications or supplements you are currently taking. Avoid strong perfumes or cologne, as some patients are sensitive. Please arrive 5–10 minutes early for your first appointment to complete the intake paperwork.
We kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur a fee of 50% of the treatment cost. We understand that emergencies happen and will always consider individual circumstances. You can cancel or reschedule by phone, email, or by replying to your appointment confirmation email.
Absolutely. Chinese medicine is frequently used alongside conventional medical treatments and can complement pharmaceutical interventions, surgery, chemotherapy, and other therapies. Please inform your practitioner of all medications and treatments you are receiving so they can tailor your TCM treatment accordingly and ensure safety. Some herbal medicines can interact with pharmaceutical drugs, so full disclosure is essential.
