Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question? We've answered the most common ones below. Can't find what you're looking for? Contact us.

Most patients should visit every 6 months for a professional cleaning and check-up. However, if you have a history of gum disease, frequent cavities, or other oral health concerns, your dentist may recommend more frequent visits every 3–4 months.
Absolutely! We welcome patients of all ages. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a child's first dental visit within 6 months of the first tooth erupting or by their first birthday β€” whichever comes first. Early visits help establish good habits and prevent problems.
Call our main line at (555) 234-5678 immediately. We reserve same-day emergency slots. After hours, call our emergency line at (555) 987-6543. For a knocked-out tooth, keep it moist (in milk or saline) and get to us within 30 minutes for the best chance of saving it.
Yes, professional teeth whitening performed by or supervised by a dentist is safe and effective. Some patients experience temporary sensitivity, which typically resolves within 24–48 hours. We use FDA-approved whitening agents and can recommend sensitivity-reducing treatments for patients with sensitive teeth.
A veneer is a thin shell placed on the front surface of a tooth, primarily for cosmetic purposes. A crown covers the entire visible tooth and is used when the tooth is significantly damaged, decayed, or after a root canal. Crowns provide more protection; veneers are less invasive and better for cosmetic changes on structurally sound teeth.
Yes! We offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for mild anxiety, oral conscious sedation for moderate anxiety, and IV sedation for more complex cases or severe dental phobia. During your consultation, we'll discuss which option is best for your situation and health history.
The implant placement surgery typically takes 1–2 hours per implant. However, the total process from consultation to final crown placement usually takes 3–6 months, as the implant must fuse with the jawbone (osseointegration) before the crown is placed. In some cases, same-day implants may be possible.
Brush twice daily for at least 2 minutes with a soft-bristle brush and fluoride toothpaste. Floss or use interdental brushes daily. Use an antiseptic mouthwash. Limit sugary and acidic foods/drinks. Stay hydrated. Avoid tobacco. Replace your toothbrush every 3 months. And of course, don't skip your bi-annual professional cleanings!
